Introductory post and stuff

Hello internet dwellers and welcome to this random blog. Basically this blog will contain mostly just me rambling on about the stuff I'm into. If you don't particularly like what I'm talking about, it's probably best to keep it to yourself and find a blog you do like, that way you don't come off as a complete ass.

As you may or may not have noticed from the title, I'm a gamer who also does watch anime on occasion and reads a lot of mangas. How much is a lot? I'd need to make a list to remember everything I've ever read before, but for those who want an actual number I know for a fact it's well over 30, probably a bit over 40. For those curious as to what I read, I have a decent mix of both shonen and seinen manga, not so much shoujo since I have a hard time getting into those sorts of manga. I could post a full list of what I read but that's for another time. As far as the anime part goes, don't expect too much in that department since I haven't really watched any anime in a while with the exception of the weekly One Piece episodes, which I won't bother reviewing for the sake of not spoiling plot points. I will probably review stuff that is completed, or movies. I could go through some Miyazaki movies at a later date so watch for those if you're a fan of his movies (which include Spirited Away, Princess Mononoke, and Howl's Moving castle for those of you who didn't know or weren't aware).

The gaming department will be mostly retro games at first since #1, new games cost a lot of money when you are basically unemployed, and #2, I'm really not that big on new games in the first place. I do enjoy the call of duty games and that every once in a while, though they can get pretty rage inducing after a while in multiplayer. For the most part though don't expect console games from me anytime soon since I currently do not have access to my PS3 since I'm taking spring courses at University. I will do PC games that are offered on Steam and classic SNES games, which I'll probably be posting about at random intervals. For thsoe of you curious I am emulating the SNES games but I do have copies of the original games and a SNES system so I'm legally in the clear as far as that goes. For those of you wonderign why I don't simply just play them on my SNES, it's basically the same reason I don't have access to my PS3, and that being that I'm attending a university an hour and a half away from the majority of my consoles with the exception of this laptop and an old cell phone. For those wondering about my first statement, I do still have money to pay for games, i'd just rather save it for stuff I actually need, like food. Besides, in my current situation I can't really play them anyways so why bother. I will be picking up either Portal 2 or Mortal Kombat 9 when I do finish my university education.

one final note, I will have occasional updates not related to any of the aforementioned things. These will probably be general life updates for the most part just so you kind of know what's going on with me. I probably will not be posting very many, if any pictures or videos because I don't have any decent recording software or a microphone and don't feel like spending money on that stuff. I am hoping however to eventually have some means of recording some of the stuff I play and possibly take a shot at doing commentary. If I do eventually do this my style will probably be similar to Seamus's style of commentary (he's SSoHPKC on Youtube if you didn't know). I say this mainly because I feel that in terms of personality I'm probably much closer to him than I am to someone like Nova, Slyfox, or Spoon (if you have no idea who I'm talking about then don't worry about it, there's links to their pages on Seamus's account if you're curious).

Well that pretty much wraps it up. I'll probably be playing The Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past for the next few hours and see how far along I can get in that (I'm half through the game already, just beat the first of the 7 temples in the shadow world yesterday morning). I'm a bit of an insomniac as well if you couldn't tell already, and I blame a combination of minecraft and manga for that little habit that's kind of snuck into my life a few months ago. I hardly ever fall asleep before 4am nowadays but that's probably because my schedule allows for it since my only class is a night class. Anyways, I'm out for now. See you guys later.

  2. Your rambling style is definitely better suited to blog posts then comment wall posts. Cool stuff will read more.
