Making progress in FF5

I've used up all 4 save files so I gotta record some more before I play through it on my own again. Apparently X fight hits through enemies defense, making it extremely overpowered. I am kinda using a walkthrough to help with the playing on my own so I don't miss anything important and I stopped just before going to the floating fortress to retrieve the earth crystal (a bit over an hour after where we last left off). I don't remember much of FF5, but I do remember the fight with the cannons getting into the fortress, and I do remember it being kind of a turning point in the game as far as difficulty goes because stuff gets significantly tougher after this point if you don't have X fight. Because I have nothing better to do I took about an hour and a half of my free time off to work on getting X fight and X magic, but pretty much stopped with the grinding shortly after getting X fight.

I went back and killed Garkimasara in the basement of Castle Worus by the way, he's actually super easy with X fight because you can hit clean through his defence and kill him with just one (though it's technically 8) attacks. Needless to say, X fight is making this game way easier than it should be at this point so you guys probably won't notice the difficulty spike as much as if I hadn't gotten such an overpowered ability. Later in the game you'll probably clearly see that X fight will likely be the only reason I don't die during some of the later battles, you'll see what I mean when we get to that point. I really only wanted to get it so early on because the fights here are easier and give decent enough ABP, so it's not gonna take more than 15-60 seconds for a fight to play out (or like 5-20 seconds using fast forwards). Later on some fights can last minutes at lower levels for only 3-4 ABP so it's slower to get ABP than it would be in some early areas of the game.

Either way I'll try to find time to record more FF5 this week since I'd rather not have to commit a weekend session to it but I'll do whatever I have to in order to be able to get more room for extra save files for when I want to play when I can't record.
