Alright I've finally managed to eliminate fraps lag. Apparently it was being caused by the program not properly syncing the audio from my external input to the audio and video from the game when it created a new .avi file. Apparently all I had to do to fix it was to stop recording my external input with Fraps and instead record it using my built in audio recording device. I really didn't want to do this at first because of all the editing work involved and I didn't think it would actually solve the lag problem and would only fix the desync problem, but apparently the lag was also solved by just doing this one simple thing. It's a bitch to edit together properly though, since I have to start recording my external audio before starting the video recording with Fraps (since I can't seem to set it to a hotkey so I have to click it to activate it and then switch to whatever I want to record, resulting in 40 or so seconds of relative silence that needs to be cut when I set the audio file into movie maker). It would probably be way easier with other editing programs but I don't really have access to other editing programs, and I've heard of issues with black screens when using things like Vegas with Fraps.
Anyways, there's over an hour of Minecraft Hardcore rendered and ready to go up, so expect that up as early as tomorrow night. The true test of whether or not my problems are solved will come when I record Skyrim, the game that is hardest on my PC out of all of the ones I play on it.
