More Minecraft recorded and rendered

For the first time in a while I managed to both record and render some Minecraft stuff in the same day, and I also uploaded the first part of it. I suppose I should also mention I rendered half the Killing Floor stuff from last Monday and have been uploading it since Sunday. I will eventually get around to rendering the other half but trust me the energy is just not there compared to the first half of videos I rendered (granted I spent most of those first videos raging at stupid stuff, like teammates and basically anything that I could blame for me ending up dead. Yea it got real ugly later on so you've been warned because the last 3-4 videos of the session I'm currently uploading aren't pretty. I will say that at least I did get more variety in the maps this time compared to the usual West London, Doom2, Waterworks, and Biotics Lab maps that I normally play. I mean, I hardly ever play Filth's Cross but I do actually enjoy that map now that I've played it for the map achievement and know of a few decent hold out points that can be used to survive the onslaught of enemies. Same goes for Departed but I really only ever had success on this map holding the small room by spawn. I did also learn where to hold out in Bio Hazard so that map is now not a challenge at all for me, granted it is still a confusing maze of hallways and rooms with multiple floors (not as bad as Hospital Horrors but it's still pretty bad). Speaking of the hospital, there's really only one great place to hold out and that's on the roof. There are a couple other places but they can only be held with the right team (granted even the roof can only be handled with the right team). At this point I'm pretty much convinced it's the worst map in the game to try and survive in, next to Evil Santa's Lair and Bedlam, granted I don't really have a lot of experience with Evil Santa's Lair and only got that map achievement out of pure luck. Bedlam may not even be the third worst anymore for me because I know how to play it properly now and really it's just a matter of whether or not the team knows what they're doing and are capable of doing it. However it can still be quite problematic though if you get sandwiched between scrakes and fleshpounds so really it's all about how quickly you can handle the big ones before they get too close. Basically it's all about having at least one sharpshooter and maybe a couple of support specialists for when stuff gets too close and as long as you have those three things you have the best chance of success assuming you use the hallway hold off point that I used in the Halloween event.

But enough about Killing Floor, I finally built my first real big build in Minecraft today. Overall I think it turned out alright, granted I think it could be a bit better. The lava that I added looks cool but in all honesty there's still something about the top of the structure that bugs me. I think part of it is that it's just too much stone brick in the walls and that it needs something else to make it look more interesting. However I think I'll experiment with that at some other time. For now I'll live with it. I also still need to build a bridge to this tower since I don't want to leave it as something that's inaccessible by land, but I think I'll do that later. Right now I think it's about time I begin to establish the first of many villages that I will be building within this world, which means that I'm probably gonna begin roadwork offscreen as well as village planning. This means I'll be laying down signs for where I want each building to go as well as establishing parameters for what each town should have as a bare minimum, and special parameters for each biome concerning the main resource(s) the town produces and putting emphasis on those. I've got plenty of ideas for these towns but at the moment they're just ideas and nothing more. I'm hoping that I can fully complete at least one town before I hit 100 episodes, but the resource cost is gonna be high for each town as each will require different resources to be built.
