Another day another map achievement

Yep, today I crossed BioHazard off the list of maps I have yet to beat on hard.  It's not really a very hard map as long as you only weld 2 of the 3 doors in the big room, then you basically have a funnel point to kill them from. Asides from that big room though I can't think of many other places that would be good to hold off in. I also tried a few other maps for achievements but failed at them.

Honestly I hate playing Wyre now because I've played it about 4 times now and failed each time, and each time I played it the game moves at such a slow pace that it's just not really fun to play. It's too much like Farm to be honest and that's what really puts me off it. I absolutely hate Farm because it's just a big open map that's dark and with crops that make it hard to see incoming zeds. This map doesn't have the crops and it's still light out but it suffers from the same fundamental problem that Farm suffers from, it's just too damn big. Stuff ends up spawning half the map away and takes too long to get to you, to the point where you're basically playing the waiting game for stuff to show up. I know of two hold off points in this map, one is the roof of the building and the other is one of the narrow halls underground with a weldable door at one end. The hall gives you the best chance of living to see the Patriarch at least since the roof I find only works if the people behind you know what they're doing and don't get overrun, causing everyone else to get back attacked and sandwiched in the corner. However, the hall is so damn boring and tedious that I was struggling to keep playing after a while because it was just so damn boring, which made it even more painful when we got to the patriarch and one jackass decided to sit on my pipe trap and have the patriarch hit it with a LAW, and then we all died. Some people should not be allowed to play games that require strategy and thinking... But yea at some point I'll have to force myself to play that map again, and I'm not gonna be happy when I do.

The other map was Crash, which actually I kind of enjoy as a map because much like Biotics Lab, you can basically hold off in the spawn area until the Patriarch. I only managed to get in one game on this in the last 2 days because it seems no one ever wants to play this map whenever I vote for it but it's a pretty good map, assuming you know what you're doing. We were doing great until wave 10, and then a 6th person joined in and was basically useless because he went medic even though we already had one, and basically sat in the corner and watched me die to 3 husks targetting me at the same time while I was handling the 6th and final fleshpound of the wave, but I died to the husks before killing the last scrake of the wave. At this point there's only 60 things left and 4 people badly hurt (2 of whom are medics). That's around when the husks began targetting them and the sirens began making progress on them. I did tell them to run and because of that only the support specialist died in that corner and then there were 50 left. Unfortunately the scrake and a couple sirens and husks still lived and with some clots and gorefasts impeding their progress towards the gate area two more people died in the escape, leaving the late joiner medic alive with 38 things left. And that's when he decided to run, directly into a corner for no reason, despite still having armor and over half his health. Needless to say so did Mr. Scrake and his siren bitches. He didn't survive long after that though he did make a decent effort to get out of the corner by running directly into the scrake. And that's when I rage quit Killing Floor. Yep... Sometimes I really wish I was recording just so I can go back to getting super pissed off at idiots in Killing Floor.
